Couch to 5k – week 5, run 3

Warm up: 5 minutes
Run: 20 minutes
Cool down: 5 minute walk

Yep you read that right.

20 f**king minutes.

Oh my days. Before I went, my anxiety levels were SO HIGH thinking there’s no way that I can do this. On the previous run (week 5, run 2), the max time of running without a break was 8 minutes. How the hell did they go from 8 to 20 minutes?

Anyways, you’ll be glad to know… I smashed it. I went REALLY slow, like super slower than usual because I really wanted to do it and this was the only way I wasn’t going to tire myself out.

I can honestly say no part of the 20 minutes was I tired or wanting to stop.

Towards the end of the run when the instructor told me there was 5 minutes left, I felt good. So I started jogging a bit faster. Then when she told me I had a minute to go, I sprinted! I can’t quite believe it myself but taking it slow at the start worked.

I’m absolutely buzzing!! I can’t believe in 5 weeks I’m able to jog for 20 minutes non-stop!!
