Walk: 3 minutes
Run: 8 minutes
Walk: 3 minutes
Run: 5 minutes
Cool down: 5 minute walk

I haven’t run since last Friday (today’s Monday) but I went to the gym twice at weekend. Saturday I did legs so after I was done, I foam rolled to death to make sure I was fit to run today and not achy… it worked!

Even though my last run was a whopper – 20 minutes, no walks in-between – I still take it reaaaaaally easy on the runs. I know if I go too fast and tire myself out, I’ll piss myself off and unlikely to look forward to my next run.

I was feeling good today so towards the end of the 8 minute run, and last 5 minute run, when the instructor told me I had 2.5 minutes left (then 1 minute) I stepped up my pace to a faster jog. For the last minute, I sprinted. I think this is what’s helped me increase my fitness so much. I don’t push myself like this during my first run (of each run). I wait until I’m after half-way.

Wore my new hi-vis jacket too. Feeling like a boss (and a pleb) but at least cars can see me now…
